' Law and Order: Criminal Intent ' the final series: Case dismissed for Vincent D' Onofrio?

As finales go, "Law and Order: Criminal Intent" on Sunday (June 26) the series was completely without emotion more closely.  Instead of spending the last hour to close the loop on the detective Robert Goren (Vincent D'Onofrio) and Alexanra Eames (Kathryn Erbe), the show is - well - a cop drama for an hour procedural.  That's probably why we love this show so much in the first place.

Sure, D'Onofrio as Detective Goren is relentless eccentric entertaining, but when it comes right down to it "Law and Order: [Insert Franchise here]" is all about crime - and the last outing "Criminal Intent are" stuck with the formula  makes us watch every week for the (mostly) the past decade.

The last case we see Goren and Eames solve together not only ripped from the headlines, but ripped from the script - the story of a businessman hip social networking and rich twin brother sue him for copyright infringement almost a carbon copy of "The social networks."  Except in the "Social Networking" thief is said to a man and no one was killed.  Also, Vincent D'Onofrio does not swan around giving lines like, "I 'ma citizen concerned with the badge.  "

"Social Networking" did not have James Van Der Beek, well, who guest-starred as a total jerk Rex Tamlyn, social networking genius business partners' who do their best to imitate the "Social Networking" Justin Timberlake's character, Sean Parker.

In addition to a step - by step as we followe Goren and Eames through the instructions, not much in the way of clues that this is - hey - the series finale.  There are several scenes between D'Onofrio and Julia Ormond as a police detective who seems to have managed to help him battle a few demons and make him understand that he meant to be a cop on the job.

And that's how the show ends, with D 'Onofrio's Goren ready to jump back to work.  Unfortunately there will be no season 11 so that we can participate.
